Major & Minor Courses
The concept of Major and Minors at B.Tech level is introduced, to enhance learning skills of students, acquisition of additional knowledge in domains other than the discipline being pursued by the student, to make the students better employable with additional knowledge and encourage students to pursue cross-discipline research.
🎓 Eligibility for Major (Honours) Degree
- iThe Student should have Minimum CGPA of 7.5 up to 4th Semester
- jStudent willing to opt for majors has to register at the beginning of 5th Semester
- kThe Student has to study advanced courses from the same discipline specified in the curriculum amounting to 20 credits. The students should complete these credits before the end of last semester.
- lStudent to opt for the courses from NPTEL/ SWAYAM / Coursera / other MOOC platform as recommended by concern BOS
- mIf the credits of NPTEL/ SWAYAM/ Coursera / other MOOC platform courses do not match with the existing subject proper scaling will be done.
✅ Student complying with above criteria will be awarded B.Tech (Honours) Degree
📜 Eligibility for Minor Degree
- iThe Student should have Minimum CGPA of 7.5 up to 4th Semester
- jStudent willing to opt for minor has to register at the beginning of 5th Semester
- kThe Student has to complete additional courses from other discipline of their interest, which are specified in the respective discipline amounting to 20 credits
- lStudent to opt for the courses from NPTEL/ SWAYAM / Coursera / other MOOC platform as recommended by concern BOS
- mIf the credits of NPTEL/ SWAYAM / Coursera / other MOOC platform courses do not match with the existing subject proper scaling will be done
✅ Student complying with above criteria will be awarded Minor Degree.
It is expected that all courses declared under Majors and Minors should be completed by the students through online platform. If courses are not offered by the online platform in such a situation student is permit to complete the course(s) in self study mode or offline mode offered by University.
